ESG Oracle Fusion ERP Security Administrator
Position Summary:
The Oracle Fusion ERP Security Administrator works at an advanced level,
responsible for the day-to-day functional configuration, maintenance, and
technical execution of security controls within the university’s Oracle Cloud
ERP and administrative systems. This role ensures complex application and
utility software configurations, including access controls and role
provisioning, aligning with established security policies, compliance
requirements, and architecture.
The ideal candidate is a highly technical Oracle Fusion security expert with a
proven track record in configuring, maintaining, and developing solutions
within the Oracle Cloud environment. A deep understanding of security controls,
regulatory compliance (FERPA, HIPAA, GLBA), and risk mitigation specific to
university operations is essential. This individual is proactive,
detail-oriented, and excels at collaborating with IT teams, functional business
stakeholders (Finance, HR), and security professionals to safeguard
institutional data and maintain system integrity.
Workplace Requirements
This position is offered as a hybrid role, combining both in-office and remote
work to provide flexibility and support collaboration. Per university policy,
work arrangements may be subject to change.
Exempt (salaried) positions under FLSA are not eligible for overtime.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree
Four (4) years of work-related experience in ERP security administration,
configuration, or a similar technical role.
Note: This requirement is maintained at 4 years to align with the
"advanced level" and "recognized expert" language from the
embedded content.
In lieu of the education/experience requirement, additional related education
and/or experience above and beyond what is required, may be substituted on an
equivalent year-for-year basis.
Skills:
Expertise in Oracle ERP security architecture and administration, specifically
Oracle Fusion Cloud (HCM, Financials, SCM, etc.).
Expert knowledge in software application design, development, testing, and
deployment, specifically within Oracle Fusion.
Strong practical understanding of user administration and security
configuration for complex ERP systems.
Conceptualize design, implement, and develop solutions for complex
system/programs independently.
Hands-on experience with role provisioning, assigning and extending privileges
and assignments, security policies, and access controls in Oracle ERP and other
enterprise systems (e.g. Jira).
Knowledge of higher education compliance frameworks (FERPA, HIPAA, GLBA,
PCI-DSS, NIST 800-171).
Ability to perform or assist with ERP security audits, risk assessments, and
role-based access reviews.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for ERP security access and role
conflicts.
Familiarity with security automation tools, monitoring solutions, and audit
logs in ERP environments.
Responsibilities: (Execution & Configuration Focus)
Execute the day-to-day configuration and maintenance of Oracle Fusion ERP
security roles, user profiles, permissions and other access requests to enforce
least privilege and protect sensitive university data.
Configure, document, and maintain security policies and access controls within
the Oracle Fusion environment, ensuring compliance with institutional policies
and industry best practices.
Collaborate with system and service owners to implement and test security
configurations for new features, modules, and application changes.
Conduct security configuration reviews (as opposed to full risk assessments) to
ensure data security, encryption, and role-based access compliance across ERP
applications.
Respond to and technically investigate security incidents, unauthorized access,
and compliance violations within the ERP systems, coordinating remediation with
university IT security teams.
Audit and update ERP security settings following Oracle updates, patches, and
major upgrades.
Develop security training materials and provide technical awareness support for
ERP
Essential Functions:
Administer role-based access control (RBAC), enforcing least privilege and
Segregation of Duties (SoD) through direct configuration and management in
Oracle Fusion.
Implement and manage security policies and access controls for ERP systems,
focusing on the configuration layer.
Monitor ERP security logs, access activities, and potential security threats,
escalating issues as needed to the Senior Administrator or appropriate teams.
Collaborate with university departments (Finance, HR, IT, Compliance) to ensure
secure ERP configurations are correctly implemented.
Perform technical support during periodic user access reviews and security
audits.
Provide expert guidance on security best practices to university staff and
administrators regarding the configured security models.
