Job Description
This is what Verdun is looking for in this role:
Hands-on Network Engineer role — not a high-level management or architect position.
1. Strong Palo Alto expertise — must be able to stand it up from the ground up and quickly assess and troubleshoot an existing configuration.
2. SD-WAN experience — Verdun uses Cisco SD-WAN, but experience with other SD-WAN platforms is acceptable.
3. Strong routing fundamentals are a must — they will be ask about basic routing as one of the interview questions.
4. Strong communication skills — must be personable and able to work effectively with field personnel on troubleshooting and connectivity issues.

Position Summary
This position is responsible for defining and implementing network strategy to support business needs in a secure and cost-effective manner, as well as ability to perform administration, support, and indepth troubleshooting of related technologies
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned.
• Maintain a regular onsite presence, working in the office five days per week
• Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours and off-hours support as required
• Provide daily operational support and troubleshooting for enterprise IT infrastructure, including Cisco routers and switches; BGP and EIGRP routing protocols; Cisco Wireless Controllers and Access Points; Cisco SD-WAN; Cisco ISE; Palo Alto firewalls and Panorama; GlobalProtect VPN; Cradlepoint devices; and SolarWinds
• Provide integration and support for field and SCADA communications, including field and office network environments and data center (colo) network infrastructure
• Ensure the security, availability, and integrity of enterprise network infrastructure through proactive monitoring and best-practice security controls
• Design, optimize, and manage network architectures, circuits, and connectivity to support business and operational needs
• Administer and support Microsoft Teams Calling/Phone services and Microsoft Azure networking environments
• Contribute to project planning efforts, including documentation, implementation, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management

Qualifications & Skills
The qualifications and skills listed below are representative of those required to successfully complete the essential duties listed above. Education/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree related to Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field strongly desired.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Network Engineer role, and at least 5 years of experience in enterprise systems.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Oil & Gas.
Other Skills
• Strong understanding of computer network infrastructure.
• Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices.
• Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols.
• Ability to create network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems.
• Ability to plan a project with major milestones while creating a proper scope, bill of materials, and work within the time requirements provided.
• Ability to work within a Change Management process.
• Ability to quickly learn technologies and products using documentation and internet resources.
• Experience with local area network and wide area network administration.
• Experience with the concept and implementation of SD-WAN from the ground up.
Computer Skills
Full knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and Azure.
Certificates and Licenses
Preferred, but not required: CompTIA Network+, CCNA, CCNP, Azure Network Engineer Associate.
