Cloud & IT Infrastructure Manager

Position summary
Inscyth is seeking a hands-on Cloud & IT Infrastructure Manager to design and operate AWS infrastructure, oversee day-to-day IT systems, and lead the Infrastructure team. This role combines cloud architecture, deployment automation, systems administration and security oversight. The successful candidate will turn business needs into practical technical solutions, support reliable operations, and work effectively with developers, business leaders and IT staff.

Key responsibilities

AWS architecture and infrastructure
- Design, implement and maintain AWS solutions for internal operations and client-facing applications.
- Manage VPCs, subnets, security groups and supporting cloud services.
- Build and maintain CloudFormation templates and parameter files used in Git-connected infrastructure builds.
- Balance security, availability, performance and cost when recommending architecture changes.

DevOps and production releases
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodeBuild and CodePipeline.
- Work with developers to troubleshoot build, deployment and infrastructure issues.
- Coordinate and perform production releases, with clear preparation, communication and follow-up.

Systems, servers and endpoints
- Administer Office 365, Active Directory, Azure AD and Intune.
- Manage user onboarding, access changes and offboarding across core systems and third-party applications.
- Maintain EC2 instances and other servers, including patching, storage capacity and performance.
- Keep device enrollment and compliance aligned with company requirements.

Security, monitoring and recovery
- Monitor infrastructure, application and security alerts; investigate issues and coordinate resolution.
- Address findings from AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty and Microsoft Defender, and maintain endpoint protection.
- Maintain Veeam backups and verify recovery capability.
- Protect infrastructure and business data, including professionally challenging unsafe requests and recommending safer alternatives.

Integrations and responsible AI use
- Maintain EDI systems and partner integrations, including connectivity, transmission and file-processing troubleshooting.
- Assess practical uses of business AI tools, considering data exposure, access permissions, security risk and expected benefit.
- Learn and support appropriate AI-enabled improvements to business processes.

Team leadership and business recommendations
- Direct and delegate the Infrastructure team’s work, provide coaching, and hold regular check-ins to support accountability and growth.
- Communicate professionally with peers and executives, offering recommendations and receiving feedback constructively.
- For significant business or infrastructure decisions, research two or three viable approaches and explain costs, operational impacts, trade-offs and a recommended path.

Experience & technical environment

Essential experience
We are looking for depth in AWS and a broad, practical systems background—not expert-level experience with every product listed below.
- Hands-on experience designing, maintaining and troubleshooting production AWS environments, with a practical understanding of cloud networking, access controls and security.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code, including the ability to work with Git-managed templates and configuration files.
- Practical administration of Office 365 and Active Directory, plus working knowledge of server maintenance, endpoint management, monitoring and backup/recovery.
- Experience supervising, mentoring or coordinating technical colleagues, with evidence of effective delegation and follow-through.
- Structured troubleshooting, sound security judgment, and the ability to explain technical recommendations and business impacts to nontechnical stakeholders.

Helpful experience—not mandatory
- Direct experience with CloudFormation, CodeBuild and CodePipeline; Intune, Microsoft Defender and Veeam; EDI or CData Arc; Docker; and business AI tools.
- Comparable tools and a demonstrated ability to learn are valuable.
- Relevant certifications are welcome but are not required.

- AI exposure: Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Hermes or comparable business AI tools.
